A 27 -year -old woman who married her ex -girlfriend’s father, who was 24 years older than her, had given insight into their relationship.
Sydney Dean, 27, from Ohio, USA, married Paul, 51, his ex -girlfriend’s father.
The couple first met when Sydney was in sixth grade, 11th, when he visited his girlfriend – Paul’s son.
Childhood romance ended but Sydney continued to be friends with Paul’s son during their teens. He often visits their home after school and on weekends.
Sydney said that when Paul’s son got a new boyfriend, he felt like a third wheel and often talked to Paul.
He started dating Paul when he was 16 years old, who was a legal age of agreement in Ohio.
“I never hoped to fall in love with Paul and we met with non-traditional ways, but I was very happy I did it,” he said as quoted by the Mirror.
The couple married in 2016 and had difficulty convincing family and friends that they were intended to be with each other.
“My mother already knew who Paul was and from several times they spoke, they were fine. But when I first told my mother that we were together, she was not happy. One year – finally, he came, “he said.
Sydney added, “[After this] we will go to his house almost every weekend just to hang out or have a BBQ. Now we live quite close to each other, he comes all the time. He is 100% supporting us and really loves Paul. In fact, they might chat more than me and he did it. ”
Sydney’s father also did not support the relationship because of the age gap but he now loves his son -in -law.
Paul’s son took the relationship as “the hardest” because Sydney already knew him. “He did not agree with that relationship for several years, but now we have been together and are married, he supports us together,” Sydney said.
He said that he had lost a friend because they were not happy with his relationship with Paul.
He added, “I hope people understand that couples with a gap are truly able to love and care for each other. There are many negative assumptions about the relationship of age gaps, but that does not mean that the couple cannot be in it the right reason. ”
“He is the best husband I can ask for, and he treats me very well,” said Sydney.
