Congress pioneer Rahul Gandhi on Friday communicated trouble that the Amar Jawan Jyoti fire at India Gate, a notable milestone in the public capital, would be doused following 50 years.
“It involves extraordinary misery that the everlasting fire that used to consume for our valiant warriors will be stifled today,” Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet.
In an unobtrusive agree at the Center, the Congress MP added, “Certain individuals can’t get enthusiasm and penance – quit worrying about We will by and by light the Amar Jawan Jyoti for our troopers.”
Military authorities affirmed on Thursday that the fire of the Amar Jawan Jyoti will be smothered on and converged with the fire at the National War Memorial, which is only 400 meters away on the opposite side of India Gate.
The everlasting fire, lit in memory of the fighters who were martyred during the India-Pakistan battle in 1971, will be drenched on Friday evening.
The Amar Jawan Jyoti was introduced by previous Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on January 26, 1972.
The National War Memorial was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25, 2019, as a landmark to fighters and uncelebrated yet truly great individuals who have set out their lives for the country since Independence. The names of 25,942 warriors have been engraved in brilliant letters on rock tablets at the commemoration.
